Biohacking 101: Key Takeaways from Bulletproof Conference 2015

Last month I was excited to attend the 3rd annual Bulletproof Biohacking Conference in Pasadena, Calif. As you may know, Bulletproof is the brainchild of Dave Asprey, a Silicon Valley investor and technology entrepreneur who spent 20 years and $300,000 learning how to achieve a state of optimum physical, mental and overall life performance.

The Biohacking Conference is a meeting of the minds for all things Bulletproof: speakers, attendees, vendors and new technologies. Everyone was there to share their knowledge, learn and improve. Dave defines biohacking as “the art and science of becoming superhuman,” and the conference provided a blueprint for doing just that. (Full disclosure: Dave is also a big fan of Sunlighten saunas.)

Highlights from the Conference

This year’s Biohacking Conference featured some of the world’s leading experts speaking on a variety of topics related to brain health, relationships, nutrition, meditation and sleep. Each day began by listening to a motivating and insightful keynote presentation:

Other presenters included Dan Radecki and Phil Dixon of The Academy of Brain-Based Leadership speaking on building brain resilience and mindfulness; Emily Fletcher on the power of meditation for improved sleep, performance and sex; and Tami Meraglia, MD, on how to biohack your adrenals. (And the list goes on!)

Connie Zack, Sunlighten co-owner, and I were able to participate in interactive sessions that explored the potential of biohacking technologies such as neurofeedback, biofeedback, exercise hacking, stress inoculation and whole-body vibration. Plus, we had the chance to enjoy plenty of Asprey’s Bulletproof Coffee, try out the therapeutic effects of an oxygen bar, and sample injectable nutrients. We were powered up!

Outside of the formal presentations, it was such a thrill to meet inspiring people with expertise in everything from accelerated learning to music, adventure and achieving happiness. Again, the list is long, but a few who stand out are Jim Kwik, Tai Lopez, Sam Salisbury and Kent Weed. I loved meeting and learning from these amazing people, and also sharing my own passion for increasing human potential, which includes the wonderful benefits of Sunlighten 3-in-1 infrared therapy!

Sunlighten mPulse Sauna Giveaway

During the conference, we also gave away a Sunlighten mPulse full spectrum sauna, which is the same sauna series used in the Bulletproof Biohacking Facility. Connie joined Dave Asprey on stage to present the sauna to one lucky conference attendee. You can view the video here!

Final Thoughts

The entire event was an incredible meeting of the minds. Yes, we met a lot of people, but more importantly, we gained a whole new Bulletproof family! Everyone we met had a passion not just for bettering their own wellness, but for bettering themselves as people.

The energy and positivity lasted the entire weekend, and I came home feeling high on life. It's been incredibly invigorating to bring that energy back to Sunlighten and to share it with our team, our customers and my family and friends—really everyone I meet!
