Get Healthy in 2015

2015 New Year’s Resolution It’s the start of 2015, and many of us are thinking about our New Year’s resolutions. At Sunlighten, it’s no surprise that the most common resolutions we hear about are losing weight, reducing stress, or gaining control over a health issue – large or small. After 15 years of helping our customers, we are fortunate that our products can help with all of these issues!

Resolution: Lose Weight

If weight loss is on your agenda in 2015, Sunlighten can offer a relaxing way to help! It may sound too good to be true, but it’s not. In fact, our infrared saunas are clinically shown to promote weight loss by burning calories while you relax in total comfort.

Results from a 2009 study indicated that Sunlighten saunas are beneficial for reducing belly fat in just a 3-month period. And for those who were sedentary due to medical conditions such as osteoarthritis, cardiovascular or respiratory problems, results were even more profound.[i]

Resolution: Reduce Stress

According to fitness expert Jorge Cruise, the more stressed you are, the more cortisol your body produces. A hormone that raises heart rate and blood pressure, cortisol may also lead to the deposit of excess fat in the midsection.

The good news: Scientific evidence also shows that infrared sauna therapy helps relax the body, helping it maintain healthy levels of cortisol. In fact, Sunlighten saunas have been clinically shown to reduce both systolic and diastolic blood pressure with regular use.[ii]

Resolution: Improve Overall Health/Tackle a Health Issue

If you have a specific health issue, or just want to start taking better care of your body, the Internet is full of ideas – many conflicting – about how to start. What you may not know is that Sunlighten was founded in 1999 as the result of a very personal wellness journey – that of Jason Jeffers, brother of current Sunlighten co-owner Connie Zack. As a result, we have devoted our work to helping people get healthy all over the world.

If you suffer from severe or chronic health issues, we recommend you read more from some of our favorite wellness experts, functional medical practitioners Dr. Mark Hyman, M.D., and Dr. Amy Myers, M.D. These two doctors are great resources to get you started on your path to improved health. If you are already healthy and just want to give things an extra push to feel even better each day, we recommend subscribing to videos from wellness expert Drew Canole or reading The E Factor: Engage, Energize, Enrich – Three Steps to Vibrant Health by Dr. Michelle Robin.

Each of these wellness experts have great ideas on getting to the root of your health issues and taking long-term steps to resolve them. And they all agree Sunlighten saunas can play an active role in helping along the way. Our saunas can assist in the important work of healing your body naturally, through critical functions including detoxification, lowering blood pressure, stimulating the circulatory system to lead to better cell health, and relieving pain. And you get to relax while our saunas do all the work!
