Infrared Sauna FAQs: Part II

Sunlighten Customer ServiceSeveral months ago, we published a list of infrared sauna FAQs here on the Sunlighten blog. Now, we’re back for round two!

We polled our sales and customer care team members and asked them “What are other popular questions you get asked by customers and potential customers?” And here’s what they shared.

Does infrared heat interfere with implants (metal, silicone, etc.)?

Metal pins, rods, artificial joints or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and are not heated by this system. Nevertheless, you should consult your physician prior to using an infrared sauna.

Should I be concerned with the output of electromagnetic field (EMF) from your saunas?

No, the EMF levels of our infrared saunas are well below the threshold of what is generally considered safe. In fact, our saunas produce less EMF than a standard hair dryer. If you are concerned at all about EMF, the EMF-cancelling technology found in our mPulse saunas reduces EMF to our lowest level yet.

How long is a typical session? And how often can I take a session?

Most people do 30-45 minute sessions, 3 -4 times a week, but it is safe to use every day.

Will my infrared sauna heat up the room in which it is placed?

Sunlighten Infrared Sauna ShowroomNo. When your sauna is on, you will not feel heat coming off the exterior walls.

Can my sauna be placed on wood floor or carpet?

Yes to both! Our saunas are completely self-contained units. Absolutely no water is used so they can be placed on concrete, wood, laminate, vinyl, carpet, stone, etc.

How much electricity does a Sunlighten infrared sauna typically use?

Based on the national average of 10 – 15 cents per kw/hr, assume you will use roughly 25 cents per hour long session. Of course, energy rates vary from state to state and time to time, but our infrared saunas are very cost effective to operate.

Do you offer financing?

Yes! We provide a financing option through Toronto Dominion Retail Card Services. Once approved, you can make monthly payments directly to TDRCS.
