Sunlighten Celebrates Heart Month!

February is kind of a big deal around here. And that’s because it’s Heart Month  – a project near and dear to our, well . . . our hearts (bad pun completely intended).

Sunlighten is a longtime supporter of the American Heart Association. We donate a portion of our sales each February to the AHA, we participate in a number of local AHA – Kansas City fundraisers each year and our owners Aaron and Connie Zack have served on the board of directors for the local AHA chapter.

Why is Sunlighten such a big supporter of the American Heart Association? The short answer is this: cardiovascular disease is our nation’s number one killer and claims one million lives each year. And it is a cause that we can get behind with our money, our time and our product.

In the U.S. alone, one in three adults suffers from heart disease, stroke or some other form of cardiovascular disease in their lifetime. High blood pressure increases your risk of getting heart disease, kidney disease or serious stroke. Only Sunlighten saunas are backed by clinical research that shows a reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Both are key factors in maintaining a healthy heart.

In a 2005 clinical study by the University of Missouri Kansas City, Sunlighten’s Solocarbon heaters were shown to lower blood pressure through a program of 30 minute infrared sauna session 3 times per week. The study concluded that Sunlighten infrared sauna therapy dilated blood vessels and reduced the volume of their inner lining, thus increasing circulation to promote healthy blood pressure.

We’ll be celebrating Heart Month throughout February – tomorrow (February 4th) is National Wear Red Day; later this month is the 24th Annual Kansas City Heart and Stroke Ball and ALL MONTH LONG, we’ll be donating a portion of our sales to AHA.

If you’re considering an infrared sauna for your home or business, contact one of our associates and buy this month and a portion of your purchase price will go to the American Heart Association!
