Commitment to Quality Guides Our Design & Manufacturing
Designed & Manufactured by Sunlighten
Sunlighten closely controls its entire design, testing, and manufacturing process. We’re constantly working with designers, engineers, and scientists to research and develop cutting-edge products like the mPulse 3-in-1 infrared sauna and the Signature far infrared sauna. We subject our designs to rigorous health and safety inspections, including third-party tests and certifications. Then we assign home office employees to oversee the complete manufacturing process, from sourcing safe and sustainable materials to making regular visits to our manufacturing facilities in Asia.
Quality Materials Ensure a Safe, Non-Toxic Sauna
Every element of a Sunlighten sauna is designed with quality and safety in mind. We don’t believe in shortcuts, which is why our saunas are made with 100% premium wood throughout the entire cabin – no hidden plywood is used.
Not only are our Solocarbon heaters proven 99% efficient, they contain a proprietary blend of FDA-approved materials and are heat-sealed to withstand temperatures above and beyond the operating temperature to ensure no unhealthy gases are released during heating. Plus, extensive third-party testing has been conducted to ensure all of our materials are safe and non-toxic.
Craftsmanship and Easy Assembly Set Sunlighten Apart
When it comes to craftsmanship, Sunlighten is the Rolex of the sauna industry. Hand-selected wood, seamless construction, and flush design elements bring a level of detail unmatched in the industry. Magne-Seal™, our patented magnetic locking system, eliminates unsightly clips, buckles, and screws. Hidden magnets in the sauna walls snap together, making set-up and take-down quick and easy. The magnetic system also creates a better seal between the walls than traditional fasteners, so heat stays in and cold air stays out. Plus, Magne-Seal prevents cracking and warping by allowing the wood to expand and contract as the sauna heats up and cools down. Our patented system simplifies assembly, ensures optimal sauna performance, and extends cabin life—making a Sunlighten sauna a great investment for your health and your wallet.
We’re Involved Every Step of the Way
Sunlighten manufactures saunas in Vietnam and is the only sauna company directly involved in all stages of the production process.
Premium Wood Selection
Our eco-friendly wood is hand-selected and kiln-dried, a process that takes several weeks and adds heat and moisture to keep the wood from cracking. Natural wood has many different hues and directions of grain. We match color and grains to ensure each sauna is naturally beautiful.
Our framework is constructed with 100% solid, non-toxic wood. That’s why our saunas are twice the weight of our competitors’ saunas. Our tongue-and-groove boards are 10mm sanded to 8mm, as compared to the industry standard of 8mm sanded to 5mm. These small changes add up to big differences in overall quality and longevity.
Cut, Assembled & Tested
Panels are cut to precision with a CNC machine. At this stage each sauna cabin is assembled and checked for quality craftsmanship.
Electrical Installed & Tested
ETL-certified components are installed, including wiring and electronics. Then the sauna exterior is sealed with a natural finish.
Final Quality Check
The sauna is assembled one last time to test electrical components and EMF levels. Then, every component of our saunas is wrapped and carefully packed in 2-3 mattress-sized boxes and shipped to our warehouse in Kansas City.
Delivered to Your Door
We take the same care with delivery to your door. Many large shipments are delivered by a lift gate to curbside. We go the extra mile to ensure your Sunlighten sauna is delivered by two men to your garage or first dry place.
We Offer Peace of Mind with Ultimate Safety
Low EMF Levels Provide a Safe and Effective Sauna Experience
Sunlighten Solocarbon heaters are the most effective—and the safest—infrared heaters on the market. Sunlighten saunas have met the strictest safety standards for more than a decade. Our patented heater design has a 99% emissivity rating and cancels out EMF to levels that are virtually undetectable—less than 1mG for Signature and Solo.
ETL Certifications Ensure Electrical Safety
You’d never buy an electric oven or other home appliance without knowing it met all safety and performance standards. Buying an infrared sauna shouldn’t be any different. Before buying a sauna, be sure it carries the appropriate safety certification. Sunlighten saunas have been tested and approved by numerous safety agencies and are ETL-certified. To verify ETL certification on any electrical product, visit the Intertek Directory and search for company name.
Air Quality Testing Offers the Power to Breathe Easy
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s) are a large group of chemicals that are found in many products we use to build and maintain our homes. Once these chemicals are in our homes, they are released or “off-gas” into the indoor air we breathe. Sunlighten hired APEX Environmental Consultants to conduct an air quality test on a sampling of Sunlighten saunas during operation. The results confirmed that Sunlighten’s saunas contain only trace levels of various VOC’s. No airborne metals, sulfur dioxide, or carbon black was detected. “The air quality in the tested saunas should be considered excellent and provides a good example for the industry to follow.”
